Who is responsible

The data controller is Hardenet, the trade name of an independent network engineer in Portugal. For privacy matters, write to contacto@hardenet.com. Full identification appears on every invoice and is available on request.

This website

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and has no forms. The hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses only to deliver and protect the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.

Bookings and payments

When you book a consultation, the details you provide (name, email, company, tax number and a description of the problem) are used to prepare and hold the call and to issue the invoice. Legal basis: performance of a contract and, for invoicing, a legal obligation.

Email

If you write to me, I use your message only to reply and to follow up on your request. Legal basis: steps taken at your request and legitimate interest in replying.

Network health check

If you request a health check, I use your name, company, email and, if given, phone number to deliver the report and follow up on it. The configuration files you send are used only for the report and deleted after delivery. Legal basis: steps taken at your request. I won’t add you to marketing communications without your consent.

Business outreach

I may contact people at companies by work email to present my services when they may be relevant. I use their name, role, company and work contact details, obtained from public sources such as company websites, LinkedIn and news. Legal basis: legitimate interest in promoting my services to businesses. You can object at any time by replying "no" or writing to contacto@hardenet.com; I will stop contacting you and keep only the record needed to respect your request.

Who receives your data

Service providers acting on my behalf: Cloudflare (hosting), Google Workspace (email, calendar and documents), Cal.com (scheduling), Stripe (payment) and Zoom (calls). Also my accountant and public authorities, where the law requires it. I do not sell personal data.

Transfers outside Europe

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In those cases, transfers rely on the safeguards set out in the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. You can ask me for more information by email.

How long

Invoicing data is kept for the period required by tax law. Enquiries and health check details are deleted once no longer needed for your request. Outreach data is deleted within 12 months of the last contact, unless you become a client.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or transfer your data, restrict its use, or object to it, by writing to contacto@hardenet.com. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to the data protection authority: the CNPD in Portugal or the authority in your country.

Complaints

Consumers can file a complaint in the Portuguese electronic complaints book: Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico

For consumer disputes, the alternative dispute resolution bodies are listed on the Portuguese Consumer Portal: Portal do Consumidor
